Construction Scotland wants to know what Glasgow’s most iconic building is
With the huge success of this year’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Construction Scotland have asked the public to share on social media which attractions in Glasgow are a must-see.
The organisation which aims to represent Scotland’s Construction industry asked on Twitter what Glasgow’s most iconic building is with the city's council leader Gordon Matheson responding: "My favourite Glasgow icon is the Riverside Museum which is rightly praised for its sleek, beautiful, modern design. It's a real demonstration of Glasgow's international standing in that it was the first building in the UK designed by Dame Zaha Hadid."
Lord Provost Sadie Docherty gave The City Chambers his vote whilst Ed Monaghan suggested Hillhead Primary School.
We’re trying to decide between Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and Mitchell Library or even the Tool Booth Steeple which in a lovely structure from the medieval period, made more iconic by it standing, almost like an island, surrounded by a sea of modernity.
To cast your vote on your favourite Glaswegian building tweet to @ConstructionSco and use the hashtag #favouriteglasgowbuilding – the winner will be announced before the end of the Commonwealth Games.
