The European construction industry’s output stabilised in July according to the European statistics office Eurostat.

This is great news for the UK’s construction industry with many of our firms benefiting from the renewed market place on the continent.

Output in July only marginally increased when compared to the same period in 2013; however it was the building sector that brought up the figures rather than civil construction which has seen a 1% decline across Europe.

Although this could have a positive knock on impact for the UK’s construction industry, although some of the traditional countries our industry works in have still to catch up such as France which is currently -1.5% on the previous year.

It’s a positive report, in what had been a disappointing summer for construction in Europe, however there is still some way to go and it would appear that the Eurozone is still dragging down the rest of Europe’s construction industry.
