Rocket Investments has announced that Mace has won the contract to build a new iconic residential London tower to be built close to Old Street roundabout.

The brick built building that’s on the site at 145 City Road will be demolished by John F Hunt to clear the site for the new construction project that will be known as the Atlas Building.

It’s anticipated that Mace will begin construction in July on both the central residential tower as well as a 10 storey office block adjacent.

In addition to the residential and office development, the site will also feature a large public space as well as cafes and restaurants and will be completed in the latter part of 2018.

The innovative designs, which take the form of a wafer of a dozen blades breaking up the tower’s mottled white façade, have been created by architects Make and will include 300 flats.

City Road is undergoing its own construction boom, with a great deal of hard hats being seen up and down the road due to the number of new construction jobs in the area which have arisen from the six high rise residential properties that have been agreed on the road and which backs up the role of London’s tech-hub; the Silicon Roundabout district.
